Feel Free to come out and support me! It is going down this Sat.
For those of you who don't know, music is my life. I eat, sleep, read, and even dream music. And when I dream of album sales, I dream of FYE Music in the Wolfchase Mall. This record store has a sleek corporate look with a professional staff, but they still maintain that down to earth attitude that us music lovers have come to adore. They sale just about any music that was ever loved. Whenever I visit this store I get that A+ treatment. Did I say "affordable"? They are very affordable! As a matter of fact, they have a list of albums on their website where if you buy one, you get a free gift with you purchase. You can check it out Here!
It wouldn't be me if I didn't say it! Yes, they do a super job at supporting the local Memphis Music Scene. They have a program where they help you distribute their music digitally and physically. You can even do a Fan Meet-and-Greet at an FYE store. Check it out Here!!
Oh! And if any corporate guy high up in the food chain at FYE is reading, the manager at FYE Wolfchase Galleria deserves a raise or something. Her name is Hydie and she is the most cooperative and nice manager that I have ever met. Trust me I know how it feels to have a manager of a record store be short and rude with you. Me being an unsigned artist, I can appreciate the respect that I received from her. You would've thought that I was a major act. She was very informative.
Anyway, pay this place a visit. at their Website

Now I have been watching this little record store for some time now and I have been nothing but impressed. Yes, this record store is small and modest but there is nothing little about this store's attitude. Simply put, this store is Memphis Music. I do not believe that the Memphis Music Scene could survive without this store. You can find old vinyl and CD releases here. You can find all genre of music here, however, they do specialize a little more in Rock & Blues than in other genre. You can even purchase old movies from this store. I know that it goes without saying, but they really, really, really support the local artists of Memphis.
Shangri-La is always got something cool going on like, the Rock 4 Love Festival, The Midtown Memphis Record Swap, and the Annual Record Store Day! The World Famous "Rolling Stone Magazine" even gave this record store mad props, calling them the "Best Record Store in the USA" View Article.
Get This! They even allow local artists to do on-site concerts for free at their store. You can check all of this out at their website.

That's About it so I am bouncing. Crumbs!!!!!
Hello fellow fans and "Music Lovers".
I have been searching for key contributors to the Memphis Music Scene, and I came across a modest little place by the name of "Audiomania Records". If you are into old vinyl and vintage music, I would definately pay this place a visit. You will find some of the most rare musics here. If there is some vintage music that you have been searching for and you cannot find it else where, Audiomania Records will likely have it. If not, you may find another rare gem. It is a small family run business so you will not get that corporate twang here. The staff is nice and they will spend time helping you find what you need. When I produce music, I like to include samples, and this place seems to have some rare music that would make any modern day producer a happy camper! Oh yeah! They support local music as well!
It is located at 1698 Madison Ave. Memphis, TN 38104
I'm Out! Crumbs!!
Hello Ladies and Gents!!!
Are you a music lover like myself? Well if you are, you probably want to know where the best place to purchase music is. Well, let me tell you that Goner Records is definately a place that you want to go check out. This place has a vast variety of music and merchandise from the bands that you love. The staff treats you like you are family, and the prices are affordable. They actually play good music over their P.A. system! They even have free WiFi that is free to use for anyone. Oh yeah! And since they are not owned by these corporate jerks that know more about crunching numbers than they do music, they can even provide very valuable help to local musicians in the area. Goner Records is a must visit, especially if you love vinyl records. You can find them at 2152 Young Avenue Memphis, TN 38104 @ the corner of cooper Ave and Young Ave.

Each sample disc will have a special code written on the back of each CD insert. You can use this code to win tons of cash prizes, gift certificates, and more. There will be a drawing held twice a month for the whole year of 2011. All you have to do to enter is join my fan club by clicking the "fan club" tab at the top of the page, scroll down, and fill out the form. Be sure to have your sample disc handy so that you can enter the code into the form. Oh, I almost forgot. The sample discs will be distributed by hand at different high schools and locations all around Memphis. You will have to stay tuned to your inboxes so that you can be there to claim your CD.
I am looking forward to making it rain on you this 2011.

When it comes to CD duplication, image is everything. I am not saying that your CD has to look like Universal Records distributed it, but there should be some level of professionalism used when designing the graphics. Most artists plan to duplicate their demos and give them away to the public free of charge. Artists that give free Cd's away experience a loss of income in exchange for advertising their music, and therefore will try to spend as little as possible when manufacturing the discs.
When you are giving away music for free it would be wise to find a cheap audio cd duplication service when manufacturing the discs, but one must not compromise the quality of the appearance of the disc in the process. When people first pick up your CD, the first thing that will make an impression on them is the way your CD looks. Money should not be the only factor that concerns you when it comes to your music.
I understand that the most important factor to consider is the way your music sounds. It is true that the greatest weight of judgement by listeners will lie on the way your music sounds, but if you are an experienced unsigned artist like myself, you will know that most people who receive a CD from an unsigned artist will already expect he or she not to sound professional. You already have one strike against you just for being an unsigned artist. Appearance is a strike that you can do something about so don't receive this pre-mature strike against yourself. Do a good audio cd duplication job.
How do I achieve good graphics?
First of all, don't write on your Cd's. The days of writing on your Cd's with a sharpie marker are over. Secondly, you should find a company that provides a cheap cd duplication service, and will duplicate and print graphics directly on the surface of your CD at an affordable price ($0.80 per disc). Finally, you should make sure that the company uses high quality discs. You shouldn't search for the cheapest price because those with the cheapest prices will likely use the cheapest discs that may scratch easily. One day someone will ask you if they can purchase one of your demos, and you will not want to sell them a cheap disc that will scratch easily.
What are good graphics?
Good graphics could be anything that your heart desires, however I do recommend that your graphics be eye catching. Do not be afraid to use color with your graphics. It has been proven that color attracts people. Good Luck!
